40' Work Barge: Major Overhaul, Bottom Paint and Repower

Work: This 40 foot work barge was brought in for a major overhaul and re-power. The major work included removal of rust and foreign materials, applying coal tar, bottom paint, new heavier gauge spuds, spud wenches, side railings, cleats, other work was also performed.

Suzuki Re-Power: The barge was brought in with twin 225hp Mercury Saltwater Series outboards that had seen better days. One of the great features of the Suzuki outboards is the higher torqued gear ratio. We were able to go from twin 225hp outboards down to Suzuki 150hp outboards resulting in more torque, better fuel economy, the quietness of a four stroke and still maintain the same cruising speed.
